I turn 30 today and am still living at home with no girlfriend, looking for a full-time job so I can get my own place. So, clearly, I am well ahead on Life’s goals! :P :/

That being said, I still have my paid-off poverty-spec Korean ecobox ‘Humdrum’ and my FIAT 126p fund is slowly increasing... :D ...so, I guess I’m doing OK in Oppo terms!

Humdrum in the hot morning sun after 100kms of driving yesterday (we really need rain here right now in Nova Scotia, send us some!) for your time! Ignore the pollen, gravel dust and bug splatters...

Dude, I’ll give you some work advice. Become an expert at something, then find a good startup company, and do whatever it takes to get your ‘good’ job there, the one you want to do for awhile. You’ll enjoy it.

I used to work at larger companies, but the politics to get ahead was brutal. I found a cool small company, the CEO walks around in his socks. How’s that for casual? I think I was employee #28 when hired. Now we’re up to about 150+ employees. I head my division, constantly getting bonuses, raises and work is a blast.

My only regret, is that I wish I’d done this sooner. Break a leg and go get ‘em!

From a 36 year old I can testify that not everything going to plan but you shouldn’t stop trying.

So your 30 living at home, that just means you’ll enjoy it all the more when you finally leave the nest. Just think, in Italy and more and more places people live at the family home into their 40s.

Keep in there. When applying for jobs, if you get knocked back, ask them what they are looking for. Each company has their own speak, and methods and practices change over time so find out what would set you out from the pact and make you more appealing to and so more employable.

Remember, every knock back is a learning curve and not a mark against you.

If you DID happen to be able to help me when the time came, I’d certainly compensate you! :) Don’t know how much you know about them...

I only know Borsuq from Oppo in Poland at the moment, and he is unable to help me find one (understandable - university, life, etc, but he’s been my source for LOTS of 126p info as he owns one [thanks Borsuq! :) ]).

It’ll be awhile yet, need a full time job and a place of my own first, but I am saving up. Currently, my only way to get one and get it looked over before purchase would be to pay a classic car garage in Poland like Classic Cars Staniszewski to find and import one for me...something like $7K Canadian. The cars, themselves, even in good shape are for sale WAY cheaper than that, so if you could help me find one and take a look at some for me on the ground and maybe arrange to get some pre-shipping maintenance done for me (engine maintenance, rust fixed, etc) it would help me save a lot of unnecessary money!

Plus, we had international Opponauts helping Opponauts with the Cletus-vette between Canada and the US, why not intercontinental help as well? :P

I’m pretty surprised it would take $7K to import one, I know importing’s a pain in the ass but considering they go for a few hundred bucks it’s pretty surprising. I guess it’s registration mainly that would be the difficult part.

Keep in mind I’m not actually very knowledgeable on cars in general (still learning, haha) and I don’t know how I’d help with importation but if you found one in the Warsaw area I’d be fine with going to check it out for you and make sure you were getting a good deal, I can also help with language barriers. OLX or Automoto is the place to look for them on the internet, if you want to go looking.

I’ve sat in them before and can testify to the fact that they are small as shit, and it’s not just because I’m 6'3”. If you slide the seat back it’s great but you can’t fit anything behind. Would make a really neat autocross racer though if you chucked out the rear bench.

Yeah, that sounds like a way to go. My issue is, I’d really have to go back to school and get a different degree. I’ve got a BA and a BEd and am trying to find full-time teaching work, but it’s hard here right now.

I do have a lot of self-taught computer skill and do repair/tutoring work on the side for it, but I have no official certification.

Thanks mate - slowly but surely, I guess. I’ve applied to a permanent job at a library in Halifax three times now that is almost exactly the same as I do at the part-time job I do here at the local library and they’ve never responded. It wouldn’t be high-paying, but it would be decent enough, and I’d enjoy it!
